Automatic girvi interest calculation

The software works out interest from the bill's own scheme — monthly, daily, 15-day slab, minimum months or compound — the moment the customer comes.

Step by step

How it works in Girvi Management Software

  1. 1

Each girvi bill keeps its own scheme and rate — changing a scheme later only affects new bills.

  2. 2

Open the bill: interest from the girvi date to today is already worked out (both days counted).

  3. 3

Part months follow the scheme: full month, only completed months, day-wise or the 15-day slab; the minimum period (e.g. 1 month compulsory) is applied.

  4. 4

If the scheme compounds, unpaid interest is added to the principal after N months; paid interest is never compounded.

  5. 5

Receive interest, a part payment or give a top-up — store-wide rules decide when the principal changes.

  6. 6

Release, renew or close the bill and print the receipt; reminders go out for expired bills and unpaid interest.

Frequently asked questions

Does the software support the 15-day slab and 1 month compulsory?
Yes — both are built-in schemes, along with monthly, daily, weekly, yearly and compound after 11 / 12 months. You can also make your own.
What happens to interest after a part payment?
Your store rules decide whether the principal reduces in the current or the next cycle, and whether old interest must be cleared first.
Can I check the interest before the customer comes?
Yes — open any bill to see interest till today, and use the reports for pending interest across all bills.
