Girvi interest calculator (simple & compound)

Frequently asked questions

How is girvi interest calculated?
Interest = loan amount × rate per month × months. At 2% per month, ₹50,000 for 6 months is ₹6,000. Most shops count the girvi date and the release date both, and charge a part month as full, half (15-day slab) or day-wise.
What is the 15 days slab?
If the extra time after the last full month is 15 days or less, half a month of interest is charged; if it is more than 15 days, a full month is charged.
What is compound interest on girvi?
Unpaid interest is added to the principal after a fixed time (for example every 12 months), and interest is then charged on the new amount. Interest that was already paid is not compounded.
Can the software use my shop's own scheme?
Yes. You choose or create a scheme (period, part-month rule, minimum months, compound rules, rounding) and it is saved on every girvi bill, so old bills keep their rules.
